dhikala safari zone

Dhikala is one of the most popular zones for tourists visiting the Jim Corbett National park. We offer complete tours of Dhikla tourism which include jeep permits and accommodation at the forest rest houses. Dhikala jeep safari operates between November 15 and June 15 of each year. They’re shut down for the rest of the season because of the rains.

Dhikala Jeep Safari

Unlike the other regions in the Corbett National park, the Dhikala area doesn’t offer jeep tours for day visitors.

Only people who booked their stay at the forest lodge in Dhikala can go on a jeep safari in the forest.

If you want to stay overnight at any of the lodges in the area, you need to hire a jeep and a naturist so that you can enter the national park and visit your reserved forest lodge.

Once inside the forest, you are free to drive around the jungle and its flora & fauna for the entire day within the permitted time.

Dhikala ecotourism zone is the perfect example of unscathed natural beauty. With its picturesque landscape, it is the most sought-after tourist destination in India. It is immensely rich in wildlife and offers a variety of tourist attractions.

Dhikala zone consists of dense Sal forests, large grasslands, narrow valleys, and numerous streams of the Ramganga River. The Ramganga river is considered the lifeline for the Corbett forest and adds to its natural beauty by enriching the surrounding vegetation.

The Dhikala Zone is best known for its abundance of wildlife, including the Royal Bengal tiger and Asian elephant. Tourists enjoy seeing these creatures. The sightings of these graceful creatures are a gift to those who witness them.

The Dhikala region is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including big cats, elephants, spotted deer, sambar deer, langurs, wild pigs, crocodiles, and so on. It takes its name from the large Dikhala grasslands which cover most of the reserve.

Dhikala Elephant Safari

An elephant safari is the best way to explore the dense forest because you can see the animals up close, and it’s a more thrilling experience than a Jeep or Canter safari.

If you want to go on an elephant safari, you need to book early. There are a limited number of elephants available and it’s first-come-first-served. So if you want to be sure of getting a spot, it’s best to book as early as possible. The safari is a tourist-exclusive service, so if you want to go on it, make sure you book your stay at the Dhikala Forest house in advance.

Note: As per the current status, elephant safaris in Corbet are not allowed by the Dehradun apex court.

Attractions In Dhikala Zone

A Corbett safari is held by the forest department in the Dhikala Zone to allow visitors to experience the rich wildlife of this region. For people wanting to see animals in their natural habitat, the Canter safari is the best option. However, if you’re staying outside the Dhikala tourist area, then the Day Jeep safari isn’t available.

You can book seats on the Canter either online or at the Corbett National Park Office in Ramnagar.

The starting point of Canter safari is the Ramnagar Corbett office, which can pick up the guests who have booked their permits from there.

On the way back from the safari, the Canter stops at the Dhikala Forest Resort where visitors can relax, refresh themselves, and enjoy the view of the Ramganga.
