A new safari zone called Girija has been opened up for tourists to enjoy safaris. There are currently six tourism safari zones available within Corbett National Park- Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, Durgadevi, Sitabani, and Pakhro. However, since there are only a limited number of safari seats available, the Corbett administration has decided to open up the Girija tourism zone for wildlife lovers.
Garjia zone is a jungle area located in Jim Corbett National Park. The area is known for its wonderful landscape and diverse range of plant and animal life. Garjia has a rich population of Royal Bengal Tigers and offers a wonderful sight to its visitors.
When it comes to wildlife viewing Garjia offers tough competition to Dhikaal Tourism Zone. The zone is a great place to visit for its stunning scenery and its relaxed and serene atmosphere.
The dense forest and its natural beauty are admired by visitors. If you’re looking to see some tigers in their natural habitat, then you’ll want to head to the Corbett Park region. This area is home to a large population of these magnificent creatures, and you’re sure to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see them up close.
Fauna and Flora of Garjia Zone
The vast Laldhang chaur grassland is the main attraction of this zone, and it is often packed with elephants and deer. You can also see wild pigs and Neelgai here, and the area is very popular with birdwatchers.
There are many different types of trees found in Corbett National Park. The most visible ones are Sheesham, Dhak, Sisoo, and Khair, but there are many others that contribute to the diversity of species. The only conifer found in the park is Chir Pine, which is seen on ridge tops like Chir Choti and declines in Gajar Sot. The higher reaches near Kanda shelter Banj Oak, which is a typical Himalayan species. Kanju (Holoptelia Integrifolia), Jamun (Syzygium Cumini), and Aamla (Emblica Officinalis) are seen growing in major areas.
The Royal Bengal Tiger, Asian Elephant, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Chital, Sambar Deer, Wild Boar, Black Faced Monkey, Rheus Monkey, Wild Pig, and Jackal are some of the animals you might see while on a safari in India!

Located 9 km away from Ramnagar City, Garjia Safari Zone (Ringora Safari Zone), Corbett is one of the best destinations for nature enthusiasts. It has an abundance of flora and fauna including rare species of animals and birds.
Garjiya is a great place to see Royal Bengal tigers in their natural habitat. The park has three areas: the Buffer Zone, the Tourist area, and the Core area.
You must limit the number of vehicles entering the park at any given time to ensure that the natural habitat of the animals remains undisturbed. If you want to spend the whole afternoon watching wild animals, you may stay longer than usual.
There are two great places to stay near Garjiya village – the Garjiya and Malani forests rest houses. Both offer comfortable accommodations and are surrounded by beautiful scenery. Visit times for morning and evening slots at these rest houses are as follows:

How To Reach Garjia Safari Zone?
The entry gate into the Garjia eco-tourism zone is the Aamdanda gate at Aamdanda village, which is about 9 kilometers away from Ramnagar City. From there, you travel for about five kilometers across a buffer zone before arriving at the core area of the Garjiya eco-tourism zone.
