Jhirna Safari Zone

Jhirna is one of the most famous eco-zoning in Jim Corbett National Park, which is located in Uttarakhand, India. It is known for its beautiful views of the Himalayan Foothills and the variety of wildlife that can be seen there.

The Jhirna village and two other villages were included in the Tiger reserve zone in order to extend the reserve territory. The villages were relocated to some other nearby place.

The land was redeveloped and turned into an exotic lush forest, which is now open all year round for wildlife safaris. The Jhirna zone is one of the most popular areas due to its year-round accessibility, in contrast to other zones that are closed during the monsoon season (with the exception of the Dhela zone).

The Jhirna tourist zone is located at the southern end of the Corbett National Park and is a great place for tiger and sloth bear sightings, as well as an amazing view of the rich wildlife within the park.

The Jhirna zone is mostly made up of dry deciduous forest, with a large grassland known as the Laldhang Chaur. This is a favorite spot for herbivores like deer, chitals, nilgai and elephants.

The many water sources in this area provide sustenance for the local wildlife, as well as add to the natural ambiance of the zone. This zone is also an excellent spot for bird-watching.

In order to enter the Jhirna zone, you need to obtain a safari permit from the forest officials. You will also need to hire a safari vehicle and a naturist/guide.

The Jhirna zone entrance gate is Dhela Gate, which is about 15 km from Ramnagar, the nearest town. Ramnagar is also the railway station and bus stand from the zone.

The safari for the Jhirna zone is organized throughout the year with two daily shifts that allow for a maximum of 30 jeeps. A jeep can hold up to six adults and two children who are twelve years of age or younger.

Note: You can’t book safaris in advance during the monsoon season from July to September in the Jhirna zone. The safari might get canceled for the day because of heavy rain or bad weather. So it’s more convenient to get the day permit for the safari from the counter on the day you want to go.

Jhirna Forest Rest House:

Jhirna is a great place to see these incredible animals in their natural habitat, and it’s also a great spot for birdwatching and other wildlife watching. It’s located on the southern edge of the forest, and it’s known for being home to a lot of different plants and animals.

This place used to be a small village, but it later moved out and became a nature reserve. Over time, the area developed into a dense forest with large grassland areas. It is home to animals like the nilgai, samba, cheeta, and wild boars.

This area is a favorite among tourists because it’s where tigers are attracted to. The higher chances of seeing a tiger make it a great place to visit.

This zone is a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts, thanks to the large populations of wild elephants and sloth bears. In addition to the wildlife, visitors can enjoy amazing landscapes, including the large grassland known as Chaur.

The Chaur is a great place for elephants and deer, which in turn attracts tigers. The area has lots of river channels with warm water and cliffs that are perfect for bird watching.

Bird lovers and enthusiasts who visit Jhirna will enjoy seeing different species of birds at any time of the year. It’s especially nice when the weather is good because then visitors can go out and see them during the daytime.

Accommodation in the Jhirna Forest guest house

There are four rooms available at the jungle lodge in Jhirana. However, there can only be two rooms booked at any one time for three consecutive days.

The rooms all have a double bed and come with an attached bathroom. They’re spacious and clean, but there aren’t a lot of amenities in the room. So, if you’re looking for a luxurious holiday, this might not be the place for you.

Staying at this forest guest house is the perfect way to get closer to nature. You’ll feel like you’re really in the jungle, with only the minimum amount of facilities. There’s no electricity here, but you will have solar power for limited use.
